atalie’s
, located at 24 S. Broad St. Ridgewood, offers a broad selection of everything from chicken wings to Filet Mignon and Lobster Tails to a selection of Country Pot Pies. Their lunch menu offers a variety of salads, hot and cold wraps, burgers and more. Across the street at 17 S. Broad St. is their sister restaurant, Natalie’s Bakery & Pasta House which, as well as a lunch menu and dinner menu with a variety of pasta dishes, offers a breakfast menu, a large selection of baked goods, and, in my opinion, the best chai latte in town.

Now, Sundays through Thursdays, until the unemployment rate drops below 7%, Natalie’s is offering what they’ve appropriately dubbed the Stimulus Menu, a three course meal for just $20.09.

With the Stimulus Menu you get a choice of 3 salads, the Broad Street Salad, a Caesar Salad, and Natalie’s Salad Supreme. I had Natalie’s Salad Supreme, a flavorful mix of greens, sugared walnuts, parmesan, and sundried tomatoes. The portions are a bit smaller than usual, which I like.

For entrees they offer 3 selections as well, including the Pasta Natalie, Farfalle Con Salmon, and Pecan Crusted Chicken.  I had the Pasta Natalie: artichoke hearts, spinach, plum and sundried tomatoes over rigatoni tossed in a cream sauce. I found the cream sauce a bit bland, but nothing a healthy dose of cracked pepper couldn’t help, and the pasta and veggies were fresh and fantastic.

When you’ve finished your meal you get a choice of cappuccino, homemade biscotti, or homemade cupcake- for free! For the cupcake they send you across the street to the Bakery & Pasta House where you can choose from a large variety of mouthwatering flavors. I chose the Boston Cream, a white cream-filled cake, topped with a tasty frosting (not overly sweet) and sprinkles. Delicious.

So if money’s tight you don’t have to sacrifice dinner out with the girls (or guys!) just to stay on budget. Head out to Natalie’s for the Stimulus Menu, a wholesome meal at a fair price. And don’t forget your cupcake! Because what’s better than a free cupcake? Nothing. (Well, maybe 2 free cupcakes…)
