Talk about credibility, Matthews Colonial Diner (website) has won the Record Readers Top 5 Diners for fall of 2007. It also was voted the best diner of Bergen county in 2007 and the first choice diner according to New Jersey’s Savvy Living in the year 2000. Located on the Franklin Turnpike in Waldwick, all deserts are made on premises and Matthew’s offers an All-Day-Breakfast –you wont be let down!
NEW IN FAIR LAWN: Why not try the Gotham City Diner (website) on Broadway where all dinner classic specialties come with fresh bread, a crisp dinner salad and a cup of soup? You can also try their signature appetizer, the Gotham Appetizer combo that comes with wings, mozzarella sticks, Tex Mex, and quesadillas all for $10.95; great for sharing!
Maybe if you prefer to dine in a long-standing establishment, the Saddle Brook Diner (website) may be right up your alley. With 50 years under their belt, Saddle Brook Diner offers a retro-cool atmosphere, with artifacts such as Betty Boop, Elvis, Classic movie actors, Rat Pack pictures and a real Harley Davidson Low-Rider on display above the front door. Located right off of four major highways including Route 80, Route 17, Garden State Parkway (exit 159), and Route 46, Saddle Brook Diner offers great weekly specials and a PDF version of the menu on their website.
A quaint little diner can be found right the heart of Elmwood Park, on Market Street, ironically named Elmwood Park Diner (website). Featuring tons of specialty smoothies like the Bananaberry Freeze, Koala Kolada, Funky Monkey, and Banana Chino, they are also one of a limited number of diners in the area to offer crepes; Normandy Crepes and Parisienne Crepes just to name a couple!
Popular with Ramapo College students, Horizon Diner (website) is approximately 2 miles from Ramapo college and located right on Rt 17 N in Ramsey. Talk about deals- their website offers coupons such as 15% the total check! With selections changing daily, you will always find something new. Try a gourmet ½ lb burger for $5.25 or a $9.45 panini!
