The Route 4 Debate

by mike on June 9, 2009

I’ve been having this debate with friends for a while now.  It seems as if the residents of Bergen County north of Route 4 do not venture south of Route 4 and vice versa.   Why, is beyond me.  It seems like traveling from Rutherford to Ramsey is like going from Maine to Virginia.

What about towns like Paramus and Hackensack? Do these residents not venture to the other side of town?  I guess the residents of Bergen County are somewhat divided, but I think it’s time to try to experience the opposite part of the county.  Go to Fort Lee, come visit Garfield.  Take a ride to the Ramapo Reservation.  Go to the Meadowlands Museum.  There is so much to see and do here in the BC, that you need to drive that extra 10 minutes and do it.  If you don’t have a car, hop the train or ride your bike through the Saddle River trail.

Why do you think the northerners don’t travel south of 4 and the southerners don’t travel north of 4?  Leave some comments.
