Borst Landscape and Design of Allendale will host a clothing drive to benefit the Star of Hope Thrift Shop in Paterson, N.J., from Oct. 15 to Nov. 13.
Donations of clean, gently-used men’s, women’s, children’s and infant’s clothing can be dropped off at Borst’s headquarters, 260 West Crescent Ave., Suite 1, in Allendale. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All donations are to be placed in the clearly marked Borst van.
“The economic crisis has caused a run on thrift shops, leaving many with low inventories,” noted Mark Borst, the company’s president and founder. “This clothing drive is one small way we can all help our neighbors who are struggling in this difficult time.”
This program is one of many efforts by Borst Landscape and Design to be a good neighbor to the community. Recently, Borst professionals have offered free educational presentations to the public at Bergen County libraries as well as garden clubs. In addition, the staff works closely with local Eagle Scouts to help them design and install community gardens; the company has donated plantings and materials for many municipal sites in Bergen County; and has supplied a number of Bergen County families in need with fresh-cut Christmas trees through their “Green Christmas” program.
